    Winter steelheading in Michigan

Went on a winter road trip a couple days ago with a friend. Hit the Betsie River, and a creek a ways south of there. Ran the centerpin/ float set up. Used spawn, gulp waxies, and jigs. Found a few biters. Great to be on the water, especially with the unexpected warm temps we are experiencing right now.

I've been fishing the St. Joseph River out of Berrien Springs. Water temp had hit 34, then climbed up to 40. Fishing has been good. With the colder water temp you've got to find those deeper holes. The dam has also been fair.
